1/ Great photographs really do make a social media feed pop.
High-quality images work wonders! So it’s worth investing in equipment you can afford, whether that’s an iPhone or a DSLR camera. “You’re also going to need to invest in photo editing apps, as simple as VSCO or Lightroom. Figure out which scheduling tool works for you. This will make life easier,” adds Talya.
2/ Find your voice.
Knowing what kind of brand message you want to portray to the public is vital for your business. “How do you want your brand to come across? Make sure your captions are in line with your brand tone,” says Talya.

3/ Be authentic and engaging.
“You want that human element: if you’re the founder, share yourself, your story, staff and customer stories. People really want to know who they’re buying from, and the people behind the brands they love,” she says.
4/ Be consistent.
It takes a long time to grow a social media following, but being consistent really helps. “Set your scheduling app, decide how many times you want to post per week/month, then set aside time to create and schedule your content for the month,” says Talya.
5/ User-generated content is king!
“If you have loyal customers – who also happen to take beautiful photographs with your products or service – share or repost their content,” Talya advises. She believes consumers’ testimonials are the most powerful tool a brand can use. They also give you fast, easy and totally authentic content – it’s a win-win.
